The boys at the Harn Museum
The last
time I posted was in late January and for that I apologize. This is
clearly not a blog in the traditional sense. The Old Wire Road blog had it’s moments of
multiple posts per month, but it really wasn’t a real blog either. On Old Wire Road there
was just so much that presented itself. It almost didn’t need my
assistance. Here in the Duckpond things are more subtle. There’s less
lawn to mow, less home in various forms of disrepair and only one chicken and thus, less chicken comedy.
So, I’ve
challenged myself to make up for my lack of postings by doing one post a day
for the next week. So, what is worth documenting? I’ll start with
some photos from the past 4 months and then target a few topics.
Thankfully, my 2006 Canon with its damaged lenses and ridiculous download time
is nearing its functional end. Its decline led to many photos being taken with my
Iphone which I object to on a certain photography snob level. I would like a new camera, but
I would also like a lot things including: a Hollywood Regency Kittenger Lotus coffee table, Velocity b43 rims, an antique desk, and a three-tier
fountain for the backyard, etc. The prospects for the purchase of a Nikon D something or other camera is not looking too good.
Giles on a freezing empty train at Stone Mountain, Georgia.
He fell asleep 3 seconds after I took this photo.
On Stone Mountain you can find the world largest and deepest carved granite relief. It's also the largest relief depicting a bunch of racists. The Klu Klux Klan used to dance like a bunch of losers on the lawn until they turned the whole god-damned thing into an amusement park.
Ice cream headache!
Little known fact: carpet installers are allowed to close a street to cut their carpet,
or so we were told.
Giles' distinct drawing style.
Cymande collected these sugar cubes in Paris when we got engaged. Now, they are on display at Lightnin' Salvage. One version of her name misspelled is also on display.
Carefully supervising track construction in the living room.
Prior to manatee viewing there was great turmoil and unhappiness in the toddler world. Then, we thought it would be a good idea to depart on a two hour boat ride. That went well.
Mommy trying to be one of Cinderella's ugly stepsisters...nice try.
Moss and Giles watched Cymande walk down the street for her recital in her costume. They were amazed and excited.
Brunch with Nana and Papa!
That's the carpet guy out the window. He is an exotic mix of beefcake and design snob. He is, above all, a consumate professional with a deep understanding of carpet installation science.
His name is Joey. Hurray for Joey!
